3 LESSONS I LEARNED FROM DAD www.lifeonsummerhill.com

Today is my Dads birthday however, he left us many years ago but his memories and the things he taught me are still very much alive. In memory of Dad I decided to share some of his wisdom with all you wonderful people. So without further a do:

Number 1. WAIT 24 HOURS. this piece of advice has saved me from really making a fool out of myself many times. You know that moment when someone says something to you or you hear something and it either hurts your feeling or makes you made. Well, then you want to jump to conclusions and go right to that person and give them a piece of your mind. Well, Dad says wait 24 hours and then if it still bothers you then go ask some questions. You know most the time I have found that 24 hours later when I am thinking more clearly that whatever it was wasn't worth worrying about

Number 2: IT DOESNT COST A DIME TO WAVE. This was when a phone call cost a dime. Now days pay phones are scares. But this lesson still holds true. If you see someone whether you know them or not give them a smile, wave and say hello. It's amazing how a person who looks like they have the weight on their shoulders will brighten up and say hello back. Plus how can you have a bad day when your smiling and saying hello to everyone. 🙂

Number 3: LAUGH AT YOUR MISTAKES. If there is one thing I have learned in life it is that everyone makes mistakes. The best thing to do is get up brush yourself off then have a good laugh. Not only will it make you feel better but it will help those around you fell more comfortable too.
