Rather Watch Than Read:

Recently, I teamed up with Lowe’s to replace a broken vanity light in my own bathroom. After all my years of experience working with clients, I knew exactly what I wanted.

I wasn’t just replacing a light; I was looking for something that would provide adequate and beautiful lighting for makeup application (the frosted glass is the perfect illumination for this because it illuminates shadows) while also offering a timeless, classic design.

Best Vanity Lighting Ideas

Now, let's begin with the light source I chose. It’s by Allen and Roth, and if you’re not familiar with this brand, make sure to take note because they consistently create stunning designs.

Gold Champagne Vanity Light

The light I picked is a perfect example of their craftsmanship. I have a gold faucet in my bathroom, and I wanted to continue that gold theme, so I paired my polished gold faucet with a champagne gold light fixture.

This light fixture is what we call “transitional.” It fits perfectly in both modern and traditional spaces.

What makes it transitional?

Well, it has sleek, modern lines in the metalwork, but the glass has a more traditional feel with a soft curve. The champagne gold finish is versatile enough to complement any style, whether you lean more towards modern or traditional designs.

Bathroom Vanity Lights from Lowe’s

While shopping for my bathroom light, I saved several more options. Many of them are shown in one color but when you click, it is available in other colors such as brass, nickel, and antique bronze.

I've also included different styles like farmhouse-style, cottage and more plus single lights for small vanity mirrors, two-light, three-light and more.

Why did I save more? I grabbed a few others for future projects, like my sister’s bathroom down at the coast.

So, what do you think? Did you find a vanity light that would work for your home? One common question I get when decorating bathrooms is whether it’s okay to mix metals.

Can I Mix Metals in Bathrooms?

The answer is yes! You absolutely can mix metals in your bathroom. It all depends on the metals you choose, but generally, you can mix just about anything, as long as it suits your design and decor styles.

For example, I love how brushed gold or champagne gold looks paired with oil-rubbed bronze or chrome.

In fact, I have brushed gold hardware and a chrome faucet in my kitchen, and it works beautifully together. You can check out my small French country kitchen to see how I pulled this look off.

When mixing metals, think about the overall vibe you want to create. If you’re using bold contrasts like gold and chrome, make sure the other elements in the room balance it out. This will help the space feel cohesive and inviting.

Light Bulbs for Vanity Lighting Fixtures

You have your light selected so now what? You need to think about the other most important part and that is the illumination or light bulb.

Creating the right ambiance is key whether that is low or bright lighting, soft or natural daylight bulbs. I have a whole post on light bulbs so be sure to check it out to assist in your ambient lighting.

Remember me mentioning that I went for a frosted shade to reduce shadows and create a softer look well you can get clear glass shades and buy frosted bulbs that work good too. Just wanted to share that little designer tidbit.
