I’m Linda, the creator of Life on Summerhill—a DIY home decor blog where you’ll find easy home decorating tips, seasonal DIY projects, and vintage-inspired design ideas to make your house feel like home.
My passion is helping you create cozy, meaningful spaces without breaking the bank. Whether you're decorating for fall, sprucing up your porch, or just trying to find the perfect paint color, you're in the right place.
How It All Began
Back in 1992, I married my husband Marty and became a stepmom overnight. Around the same time, I started design school at Florida State University, and later studied art and design in Florence, Italy.
With a big dream and a small budget, I learned how to stretch every dollar decorating our little home—and I’ve been sharing those ideas ever since.
We raised three amazing daughters in our Southern home we lovingly call Summerhill—a place filled with sunlight, stories, and so many DIY projects.

- And Marty is always up for gardening and a road trip
Even our cat, Kit, likes to make an appearance now and then.
Why I Created Life on Summerhill
Over the years, I realized that what people need most is a place that feels warm, inviting, and uniquely theirs—not a picture-perfect space, but one filled with love and creativity.
So I created this blog to share:
