How To Decorate With Baskets
Bathroom Organizing With Baskets
We want to start with somewhere you might expect using baskets when organizing. We however don't want you just to grab baskets and throw stuff in. Storage baskets are so useful but can also be beautiful.
There's a great way of organizing whatever you need in your basket and store it so that your basket appears as a decoration instead of just a storage piece. Your extra towels, extra linens and other items can be blended into your decorating style. It's the perfect way to give your bathroom storage a clean look.
Shawna did that in her blog post, A Quick & Easy Linen Closet Refresh.
Decorating With Baskets with Plants Nestled Inside
Nestling a plant inside a basket is a great and simple way to use baskets in your decor. You can use faux plants or real plants. If you use real plants, make sure you protect the bottom of the basket.
Even better is getting height with the basket by setting it on top of a stool. Megan, over at Life With The McPherson's, did just that, and it looks perfect.
Hanging Baskets on the Wall in a Collage
Danielle Aitcheson has created a creative collage with baskets hanging on the wall. With a simple nail and hammer and some imagination and you have a stunning gallery wall in your home. It's the perfect solution to turn the empty space of a blank wall into a beautiful art display.
Basket Wall Gallery

Basket Wall Art
Check out the way that Kari Teel hangs her baskets. She hangs the front and back, facing outward. She also mixes in pattern baskets with simple baskets, and the outcome is a perfect art piece.
Wall baskets are a great idea to make your home feel cozy and inviting and can be found in all different shapes and sizes.
Lighting With Baskets
When we wanted to show you how to decorate with baskets, we just couldn't wait to show you how lighting and baskets go hand in hand in our woven basket pendant light ideas post. The light patterns that are made by putting a bulb under the basket are breathtaking.

Basket Storage in Pantry
Baskets are very useful in pantries. It's one of my favorite places to use them and an attractive way to store necessities. In our house, we used different styles of baskets for storage of food, cooking supplies, and kitchen linens.
I especially love using large baskets for bulk items.
Baskets Storage on Bookcases
A clever but pretty way to decorate your bookcases or shelves is with baskets. I love my bushel basket and the bookcase is a great option for placement.
On the top of our bookcases are large baskets that can quickly be brought down and used or on the bottom shelf is a vintage picnic basket that stores decorations we change out each season.
Hanging Basket in Kitchen
One of my favorite things is picking flowers or greenery in our garden and decorating our home with them. This basket hanging in our kitchen always has garden gloves and sheers. All I have to do is grab my market basket and pick flowers.
This basket is also practical when I go to vintage events, and I need something to carry my purchases. You might say this basket gets used a great deal.
Basket for Blanket Storage
Rather than store your blankets in your linen closet, try using a basket to store them in your living room. Large wicker baskets like this one are perfect for storing throw blankets and the hearth is a great place for it. This is a pretty way to keep your blankets close by on cool winter nights.
This decoration gives your living room or den a cozy-looking feeling as well as makes hanging out by the fire or watching tv comfier for friends and family.
