Autumn mantels are a place that serves as a centerpiece in many homes.ย It's a simple place to swap out decorations from season to season. We hope this post inspires you to make some hot chocolate and roast some s'mores and enjoy your loved ones!
Ideas for Autumn Mantels
We can't wait for it to be cold enough outside to have a fire. We've even cranked down the air conditioning to feel cool enough inside to have one. ๐ There's something about the smell and warmth that makes you want to linger longer indoor with loved ones.
So, what better place to focus your decor, than the one place you might spend a lot of time? The decorating possibilities are endless.
Orange and Neutral Autumn Mantel Decor
My first idea comes from right here at Summerhill. This orange and neutral color scheme brings our autumn mantel to life. What gives it all the cozy fall feels? A touch of rustic charm, an old window, glowing candles, autumn leaves, and that beautiful seasonal art.

Copper and Orange Fall Mantel
For a warm and vibrant look, we decorated my daughterโs mantel with vintage copper plates, lots of orange fall leaves, candles, and a few old books tucked in for charm.

The mix of the aged copper and all those rich autumn colors made the whole space feel so cozy and welcoming. Itโs an easy way to use what you have and bring in that fall feeling everyone loves.
Vintage Nature-Inspired Fall Mantel
This autumn mantel has such a charming, collected look. It features a layered windowpane with artwork that looks like a vintage Audubon turkey print complete with a soft blue mat that adds a surprising pop of color. Tucked in around it are old books, warm candlelight, and a mix of reddish-brown leaves arranged in an ironstone pitcher.

The finishing touch? A sweet scalloped plaid paper garland draped across the front. It all came together in the fall color decorating post over here: Decorating with Fall Colors if you'd like to see the full look!
Easy Fall Mantel Decor
If decorating is not your strong point then this fall fireplace mantel is a great idea to begin with. Think layers, window and art, a basket on the wall, adding fall ribbons to decor, the rabbit, and sprigs of fall leaves here and there.

Basket Gallery Wall Fall Mantel
This fall mantel has a cozy, collected feel thanks to a creative twist using a gallery wall made entirely of baskets hanging above the fireplace.

The warm woven textures bring in that natural autumn charm while layered eucalyptus and cotton, soft candlelight, and neutral tones keep it feeling calm and inviting. Itโs a beautiful way to decorate with everyday items in an unexpected way.

Jewel Tone Fall Fireplace Mantel
Amy's Jewel Tone Fall Fireplace Mantel Decor uses beautiful jewel tones in this autumn mantle. Colors like emerald, amethyst, turquoise, and garnet are just a few that pop out.

It's a lovely break from the orange and browns that we usually see in the fall.ย We just adore the wood firebox cover with lavender hanging from it!
Wagon Wheel Fall Fireplace
The cover on this fireplace takes you right outdoors. The sweet deers and the cast iron look, bring so much warmth into the home and the fire isn't even lite yet.

A wagon wheel is such a cute centerpiece to this mantel. It causes the other wood items to pop! The neutral feel of this makes us want to cozy right up in front with a loved one.

Rustic Garden Fall Mantel
The textures in this mantel decor are so welcoming. The garden feel that is captured with the faux moss and the antiqued flower pots make us want to take our shoes off and stay a while.

We love the stacked chests used on the hearth, and the pillows add more comfort. This beautiful Rustic Garden Fall Mantel by Liz Marie will for sure give you inspiration for your fireplace mantel!
White Farmhouse Fall Mantel
White and off white are bright and cheerful ways to bring autumn into your farmhouse decor. Think white pumpkins, books, paper crafts and chalkpainted anything.

Sneak over to Kellie's blog post at Farmhouse Fall Mantel Vignettes. She changes out her mantel in several ways. It allows anyone to be able to duplicate her inspirations. The symmetry she creates with the old books is lovely!
Coastal Fall Mantel
We live by the coast, and we don't get to experience the same gorgeous fall colors that those of you that live up north do. But who needs fall leaves when you have all the glistening colors of the ocean.ย

Check out what Chelsea's, Coastal Fall Mantel Decor, did with her mantel! It's the best of both worlds. Just imagine hearing the fireplace crackle while the waves crash in the background. Heaven on earth!
Shabby Chic Fall Mantel
Mirrors are beautiful above a mantle and make a room look larger. The vases and bottles used on this fireplace add textures and colors. The berry vines could be used different times of the year.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter and the list could go on and on. Plates and books are used to add elevation in just the right places. A touch of wheat finishes off this fireplace beautifully decorated. To read more check out How to Create a non-Traditional Fall Mantel.
Turqoise and Fall Decor
Looking for an idea but don't have a firepalce? We thought of you too! Don't you love how Megan created this A Turquoise Fall Display. She took this bookcase and gave it a mantel feeling?

We can just picture pulling up a chair next to this bookshelf and have some little ones gather around you to listen to a book. Can you see it?
Think of the memories that could be made once you have a designated cuddly reading area! I see the decor on this bookcase becoming heirlooms that will bring back sweet memories for many years to come.
CONCLUSION
Are y'all ready to turn the air conditioning down and start a fire? We are! Here's to hoping this mantel decor post made you as warm inside as the fireplace will make you on the outside this autumn!
