Gallery wall collages are super popular right now. And we thought there was a good chance you might have unwrapped some pieces that could be incorporated into one. They can be a little unnerving to hang, but we promise you'll love them once you do.

The great thing about a gallery wall collage is that there isn't a real order to where the pieces are hung. No need for a perfect line or spacing a certain number of inches apart and what's not to love about the freedom in that.
These gallery wall ideas include ideas on what to hang on your wall as well as inspiration for different styles.
GALLERY WALL IDEAS
We loved featuring our Instagram friends in our tiered tray holiday post. And we couldn't resist featuring what they have again! They are super talented when it comes to decorating their homes. See what their gallery wall collages look like, starting with my daughter's house.
Plate Gallery Wall
When it comes to gallery wall ideas, a plate gallery wall is one of the most charming and creative options. You can start with just a few favorite pieces and grow your collection over time.

Thrifting is an excellent way to find unique plates, or you can shop stores like TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, where new designs arrive every week.
The biggest challenge with a plate gallery wall is figuring out how to hang them securely while keeping a seamless look. Iโve found a clever method that makes the plates appear to float on the wall, giving the whole display a light and airy feel.

Hanging Gallery Wall
One of the most clever gallery wall ideas is to use a hook board. This approach means you donโt have to put a single nail into the wall, and itโs easy to swap out decor seasonally or for the holidays.
In my kitchen sitting room, I have a hook board that I decorate all year long, and it brings so much joy to change it with the seasons.

For this summer look, I mixed pieces of different lengths, such as blankets and garlands, paired with smaller accents like baskets or framed art. The artwork here is from my printable Etsy shop, which is an affordable way to refresh frames with new designs throughout the year.
Fireplace Mantel Gallery Wall
When it comes to gallery wall ideas, the fireplace mantel is a quintessential spot. The mantel shelf itself offers the perfect stage to layer in details and create a look that feels curated yet effortless.

On our mantel, I leaned a few pieces of art against the wall and added a basket above. This simple arrangement proves that you donโt need an extensive collection to create a gallery wall; sometimes, a handful of well-chosen pieces makes the most significant impact.
Now, let's take a look at a few friends' gallery walls.
Staircase Gallery Wall

Kaley's gallery wall is up her stairwell. She uses corbels, a chalkboard, a mirror, clock and so many other great Farmhouse pieces. Old window frames are gems to use in a collage!
Nursery Gallery Wall

This room is every little boys dream. It's masculine yet age appropriate. Lauren did an amazing job designing this gallery wall. The use of different textures is so aesthetically pleasing. With a wolf and bear iron heads and the wooden arrows.
Entryway Gallery Wall

Using a collage in a foyer is a great way to welcome visitors. Monograms are popular items to use. This rustic vintage bench is a perfect place to accent with such a collage above it.
Living Room Gallery Wall

Nicole displays her gallery wall in her kitchen above her coffee nook. There are so many naturals and then she accents it with pops of teals. Each piece has it's own personality and has a story to tell. So grateful she took the leap and shared it with us.
Home Office Gallery Wall

The boho aztec look on this gallery wall is chic! From the cactus wood piece and other succulent art, to the bohemian framed pieces, what's not to love? Macrame is a great way to incorporate some handmade cotton items.
Bedroom Gallery Wall

Lindsay's farmhouse collage is so rustic. We love the different shape and sizes she chose for her initials. The piece that reads, โEnjoy the little things,โ is a great reminder to enjoy precious moments with family. Time is fleeting.

While some stick to iron and wood, Kristie adds a flare with galvanized metal. Her buckets and initial bring a rustic feel to her gallery wall and she still incorporates kisses of wooden chevron pieces and other great signs.

We didn't want to leave you with great ideas without giving you help in hanging your pieces. So, here is the link to a post we did back in June on The Art of Hanging Art. In it are hints on choosing the right pieces and tips on laying them out before committing to the spot they will reside on the wall.
Shelf Gallery Wall

Have you collected something and been trying to find a special way to display that collection? Check out this clock collection from The Pickled Rose. Different shapes, different sizes and different colors all pull this gallery collage together in a great way.
