Vintage Spring Decor Ideas – Room by Room
Bringing Old World Spring to the Mantel
Let's start our spring home tour in the living room. One of the easiest places to refresh for the season is your fireplace mantel. Just a few well-placed vintage collections and nature-inspired pieces can set the tone for your whole home.
This year, I styled mine with a charming budget-friendly bunny lithograph from my Etsy shop layered in front of Walmart's vintage mirror as the focal point. Next, flanked by two small crock creamer, it adds an old-world touch.
A plant with tiny white flowers on a vintage book, and crock creamers also bring that vintage charm look to the mantel.
The sweetest addition to the mantel is the cloche filled with brown paper grass and a robin egg.
To complete the look, brass thrifted candlesticks with battery-powered candles add a warm, ambient evening glow. The mantel is the perfect place for showcasing interesting vignettes that celebrate the season.
Cozy Vintage Spring Vibes in the Living Room
In the living room, I embraced the season with simple but meaningful touches. On the end table between two chairs, I placed a larger crock, the perfect spot for fresh spring flowers.
Next to it, I added a floral china teacup and saucer that has been converted into a candle. You can find the tutorial to make this charming candle in my post How to Make Teacup Candles. This small detail brings warmth and nostalgia to the space while complementing the vintage theme.
On the coffee table is a vintage inspired rabbit candy mold. Old looking candy molds have vintage written all over them and are one of my favorite springtime accessories.
The other end table combines books, and thrift store finds, another cloche with a candle inside, and a bunny. All items are year-round pieces, but adding the distressed gold bunny gave it that vintage spring aesthetic.
A Nostalgic Nature-Inspired Dining Area
The dining area is one of my favorite places to layer in seasonal charm. This year, I styled a trencher dough bowl with Queen Anne’s lace flowers from Hearth & Hand at Target, giving it a fresh-from-the-garden feel. Floral centerpieces are perfect vintage spring decor ideas.
On either side, two vintage modern rechargeable lamps from Walmart add a soft, inviting glow. To elevate the vignette, I placed everything on a chalk-painted wooden base for an extra vintage touch.
This small detail makes a big impact by adding height and character.
A Bookcase with Vintage Beatrix Potter Spring Charm
In my dining room bookcases, I leaned into one of my favorite vintage spring decor ideas, the beauty of vintage dishware with a mix of cabbage ware, Peter Rabbit pieces, and delicate spring florals.
Nothing says spring style like bunnies. Inspired by Beatrix Potter and her lovely illustrated books, let's start on the left bookcase to see how I got a vintage spring look. On the top shelf is a vintage crock bowl filled with grass and natural looking eggs, a new cabbage ware teacup and saucer and a faux plant on a stack of old books.
All year long I have been thrifting Beatrix Potter books and dishware so I was pretty excited to unpack it all and start decorating.
On the next shelf are a few old Potter books used as decorations and a kid's china cup featuring an illustration from one of Beatrix Potter's books.
Below that shelf is a vintage piece of art sourced from Europe and another vintage candy mold I bought many years ago of a lamb. See how each piece, whether new or old, gives that vintage spring vibe?
Another new Peter Rabbit teapot on the next shelf and a vintage picnic basket with greenery wreath sitting on it completes the vintage spring decorating on this bookcase.
Now let's head over to the other bookcase because we have more Beatrix Potter aesthetics and vintage pieces.
On the first two shelves, I displayed a rosemary plant, Peter Rabbit figurine, and a bunny holding a cabbage plate, which comes from the vintage collection at Target.
The next shelf is a new cabbage ware teapot and cup from Target nestled on a stack of vintage books.
Towards the bottom, a vintage wooden dough bowl filled with Easter grass and these fun vintage paper mache nesting eggs found while thrifting at the Goodwill.
Also on this shelf is another vintage Beatrix Potter cup, this Peter Rabbit mug brings in childhood nostalgia.
A Warm Welcome in the Entryway
The entryway is the first space guests see, so I love making it feel welcoming with seasonal decorating. This year, I layered soft greenery with delicate Easter touches.
A lamb’s ear wreath hangs on the mirror, adding a fresh spring feel. You can learn my best tips in my post 3 Step by Step Instructions How to Hang a Wreath on a Mirror.
A lavender plant, bringing a soft purple hue. A cloche with bird's nest and speckled eggs sits inside, adding a little spring nature, and a brass candlestick with a battery-powered candle adds warmth and height to the design.
Next to the tray, I placed Studio McGee’s antique brass bunny perched on a woven Easter basket for a subtle holiday nod.
Sweet Vintage Touches in the Kitchen & Butler’s Pantry
Spring touches don’t have to be overwhelming. Even small details can make a space feel fresh and seasonal.
In the butler’s pantry, I added a candy mold from Michael’s in the prettiest champagne gold color. This vintage-inspired piece features an anthropomorphic bunny, adding a playful but elegant detail.
The kitchen holds a few touches of vintage spring décor. I change out this handmade clipboard with farmhouse sack cloth designs. This little chick is one of many options in my Etsy shop.
In the window is another favorite vintage spring decoration. My grandma's Ranny's Currier & Ives teacup with an air dry clay flower frog filled with chamomile and lavender.
You can never have too many spring flowers when decorating this time of year.
In the kitchen sitting nook, I made a few simple swaps that transformed the space for spring. A new watercolor bunny print takes center stage, bringing in soft pastel hues.
A bundle of white flowers adds freshness and brightness. A market basket hangs on the wall, hinting at trips to the farmers market.
Organic textures are perfect for spring. One of my favorite new finds—a block print tablecloth—hangs from a hook, adding a vintage textile moment.
And let's not forget the hutch filled with spring colored vintage dishes.
Then a vignette of stacked Pottery Barn's new cottage style bunny plates next to a thrifted cloche with my other grandma's china teacup.
The magnolia pattern teacup whispers springtime.
Timeless Vintage Easter Accents
No vintage spring home is complete without a few Easter-inspired pieces. If you love classic bunnies, baskets, and eggs, consider these easy styling ideas from years past.
Antique Easter postcards tucked into vignettes, placed on a shelf or turned into standing displays. Vintage bunny figurines nestled among books or displayed on a tabletop.
This year he is stationed next to the bench in the hall. This vintage Easter bunny next to our old bench is so much fun and brings life to the hallway.
Egg cups filled with speckled eggs are a charming table setting. Dough bowls filled with moss, eggs, and bunny mold, or trinkets for a simple centerpiece.
These little details add a touch of nostalgia while keeping your decor feeling timeless and elegant.
