Fall is in the air, and it's time to cozy up your home with autumnal charm. In this post, we'll show you how to create a warm and inviting space using a mix of vintage and new pieces, focusing on orange and copper accents.
Get ready to add warmth and fall in love with your home all over again!
Imagine sitting by the fire, enjoying a warm cup of hot cocoa or coffee in an autumn-filled room full of fall color and home decor. In today's fall home tour, we use orange and copper as the main accent colors.
This tour will begin at the front door, travel through the living room, highlighting the fireplace and book nook, and then on to the kitchen and dining area. You won't find any white pumpkins in this design, so hold on to your hat for the best inspiration, which uses orange and copper.
Decorating with Orange and Copper for Fall
Whenever we start any project, I find it much easier to let the creative juices flow if we clear everything out. So we stripped the fireplace mantel of all its decor, removed anything spring and summer from the living room, and started with a blank slate.
Now that everything is ready, let's begin at the front door with these fall home decor ideas.
Front Door Foliage
One of the easiest ways to give your front porch a seasonal makeover is with a fresh wreath.
This year, my daughter picked up a gorgeous fall foliage wreath from Hobby Lobby, a total dupe for the Pottery Barn version. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s a fantastic alternative if you’re a fan of Pottery Barn’s style.
This wreath instantly adds a touch of autumnal charm to her home and sets the perfect tone for the rest of the fall decor.

In addition to the wreath on the door, she added a gingham doormat outside in orange-tan and white. It complemented the wreath beautifully and dressed up her door even more.
Now that we've finished the entrance let's move into the living room, starting with the heart of the home—the fireplace.
Living Room Transformation
The living room is my go-to spot for seasonal decor. It’s where we hang out the most, so it’s fun to change things up with the seasons. Now, let's begin with the fireplace mantel since it is the focal point of this room.
Fall Fireplace Mantle Focal Point
Our mantelpiece is the centerpiece of our fall-themed living room.
We started by setting up a vintage-looking mirror and an old large copper piece stacked in front of the mirror. This vintage copper piece of art was a lucky find. While pulling everything from the attic my daughter discovered it.
We did some digging and found out that this copper piece—and a few others like it—actually belonged to Savanna's husband's grandmother, Grandma Taffy, who used to live here.
Next, we draped a cozy fall foliage garland across the shelf, stacking old books underneath on the right side. She rounded this one at Hobby Lobby but Pottery Barn has one similar.
To add a warm glow, we scattered brass candlesticks throughout and finished it off with a medium-sized orange pumpkin.
For a classic autumnal touch, we placed a bushel basket on the left, overflowing with a leafy garland like someone had just raked up a pile of leaves.
Next to that, a smaller basket filled with orange pumpkins and a larger one sit beside a wood pile. To complete the autumnal scene, we sprinkled fallen leaves around the hearth.
The combination of orange and copper creates a truly inviting and festive atmosphere.
Autumn Hammock Chair Nook
Next up, let’s check out the cozy reading nook. Since Savanna’s a big bookworm, we knew we had to make this space extra special.
A cozy reading nook with a hammock swing right by the fireplace. We wrapped a fall foliage garland around the top of the swing, letting it cascade down the side. It looks like the leaves are floating through the air and landing on the mantel.
We scattered many faux pumpkins around the existing greenery plants and added some cute mushroom picks into the pots for a touch of forest magic.
Don't forget the fall leaves sprinkled throughout! We added the leaves on her area rug. And if you really want to get cozy, we added a pumpkin-shaped pillow to the swing (though it's not in the photos).
It's the perfect spot to curl up with a good book and enjoy the fall vibes.
Pumpkin-Filled Television Console Table
The television area probably gets the most attention so that we couldn't leave out some autumn decor and aesthetics here. These ideas bring home an autumnal vibe.
Our television console is decked out for fall!
We added more pumpkins and leaves around the existing decor. On one side, there's a stack of books with the cutest little squirrel peeking out. Brass candle holders and even more mini pumpkins complete the look.
Doesn't this say happy fall?
Here's a tip: Play something on YouTube with a fall aesthetic to set the fall mood. We spent most of the day watching Autumn Coffee Shop – it's the perfect background noise for a cozy fall evening and adds so much to the autumn aesthetic.
Autumnal Coffee Table
Coffee tables are the centerpiece of your living room, so it's important to get the decor just right. We used copper and orange to tie everything together in our space.
We found this stunning copper tray in the attic – remember Grandma Taffy! It's the perfect centerpiece for our fall decor.
To complete the look, we filled it with bright orange pumpkins, fall leaves, and a giant acorn. The perfect fall table!
Cozy Cushions for Fall
The sofa is the perfect place to curl up and relax, and our added pillows make it feel like a cozy fall retreat.
We used several neutral-colored pillows to create a calming base and then added a bunch of cute pumpkin pillows to bring in the fall vibes.
The star of the show is definitely the plush pumpkin pillow from PopShelf. It's so soft and squishy and is a fabulous dupe for the one at Pottery Barn! It's like a little hug for your back.
We also added an adorable needlepoint acorn pillow from Michaels – it's a total steal at under $10.
And to complete the cozy corner, we moved one of the pumpkin pillows to the hammock chair in our reading nook. It's the perfect spot to snuggle up with a good book.
Kitchen Cozy Corner
To transition from the living room into the kitchen we came up with the most fun and easy idea. Savanna has a big opening in the wall between her kitchen and living room it provides a perfect shelf.
We decided to add a row of small pumpkins, reminiscent of the picket fences dressed with pumpkins in New England.
Isn't this the cutest?
No matter which way you look, these small orange pumpkins give you an autumnal view.
To add a touch of autumn to the kitchen, we hung a fall foliage garland around the cabinets above the sink.
We also placed a matching small wreath above the range hood. And guess what? We found another hidden gem in the attic – a small copper platter that used to belong to Grandma Taffy!
It's the perfect size to place over the white tile backsplash.
To complete the look, we scattered small orange pumpkins throughout the kitchen, like these next to the stove adorned with a faux fall leaf. Plus one next to our copper storage canisters.
It's a cozy and inviting touch that brings the fall vibes into the heart of our home.
Dining Area Delight
Savanna's dining table is the perfect spot to gather with family and friends, and she's added a touch of autumnal charm to make it even more inviting.
Autumn Table Centerpiece
She started with what she already had on the table: a lazy Susan in a natural finish and plants. To add a seasonal touch, she placed a pumpkin salt and pepper shaker on the lazy Susan.
It's a simple yet effective way to bring the fall vibes to the table. Next all you have to do is add dishes an such for a cozy fall tablescape.
Now, let's head over to the hutch, where she again left things as they were and added touches of seasonal color to the decor.
Seasonal Hutch Decor
Savanna's hutch was already dressed, but she decided to go the extra mile with autumnal accents. She scattered fall leaves and small pumpkins across the top and inside the shelves.
What a great idea to add into what you already have!
But the real showstopper is the collection of teeny tiny pumpkins she's scattered throughout the hutch. These little guys add such a playful and whimsical touch to the space. Decorating with tiny things is so much fun!
I apologize for these fuzzy photos. I forgot to take pictures of this area, so I grabbed some images from teh YouTube video, which reminds me. Join us as we decorate her home for fall in this Decorating with Orange and Copper for Fall video.
Thrifted Finds and DIY Touches
Let's talk briefly about thrifting decor for fall because I have some great tips.
When you are thrifting, think about holidays all year long. Look for art in the color of that season. There are obvious pieces, such as pumpkins and gourds, and then there are pieces that have that holiday shape or color.
The main thing is to keep your eyes open all year long. When the holiday gets near, it will be like Christmas when you open the box to see what you have been collecting all year.
Also, when you are thrifting, think about ways you can upcycle items for your fall decor. Always be on the lookout for ideas for DIYs for fall. For example, books can be crafted into pumpkins, and fall tea cups can be made into candles.
Budget-Friendly Fall Decorating Dupes
We talked about thrifting as a way to save money on decorating, but here are a few other ways.
Look for dupes on social media for cheaper options for the high-end piece you adore. For example, you can find the Sherpa pumpkin pillow from Pottery Barn at Walmart, Popshelf, Hobby Lobby, and more.
Remember, another dupe was the fall wreath at Hobby Lobby, which looks very similar to Pottery Barns.
Looking for dupes is pretty fun, and knowing you are getting that high-end look without the high-end price is even better.
Conclusion
Well, there you have it! A cozy and inviting fall home tour filled with orange and copper accents. From the front door to the dining room, we've explored how these colors can transform your space into a warm and welcoming retreat.
You may have noticed we didn't use any traditional copper pieces, but if you are looking to add copper to your decor, consider using copper pots and mugs, like Moscow mule mugs. Copper mugs will look great for a table setting.
In Savanna's fall tour, we didn't mention one single blanket. When it comes to the best fall decor ideas, if you can splurge, get autumn-colored cozy blankets. You can add it to the back of the sofa use it on a table for a tablecloth, or place it in a basket for use in cooler weather.
Remember, the key to successful fall decorating is to have fun and let your creativity shine. Incorporate elements that resonate with you and create a space that brings you joy.
So, grab your favorite cup of something warm, gather your fall decor, and get ready to cozy up in style!
