This year, my Christmas decor theme is pastel coquette, and I'm eager to guide you through my pastel Christmas front porch decorating ideas, providing detailed steps for each part of the process.
The entrance to your home is the first thing your guests will see, and you want to put them in the Christmas spirit right away. Even a small front porch can make a big impact with the right front porch Christmas decorations to put everyone in the holiday spirit.
First things first, a clean slate is essential. I like to start my porch makeover by tidying up—sweeping away any leaves, and giving the glass and furniture a good cleaning. Sprayway is my favorite glass cleaner to keep things sparkling.
Now, let's get decorating!
Pastel Christmas Front Porch Decor Ideas
Layered Front Porch Rugs
With a clean porch, it's time to dive into the fun part—decorating! Layering rugs is a great way to add texture and warmth.
I chose a large pastel rug and topped it with a welcome mat that I stenciled myself. If you want to create your own, check out my post How to Design Your Own Doormat.
Flocked Garland
Christmas decor is not complete without some greenery. I added a flocked faux garland with pinecones to the seating area, embellishing it with two gorgeous ribbons.
Since we don't get snow in Florida, I love to add a touch of “snow” outdoors myself.
Lanterns with Candles
These old vintage lanterns are a favorite and I have used the in many decorating projects. It is easy to change the look of the lanterns with a satin bow on top for a festive vibe and matching my pastel color scheme.
I add my favorite battery-powered candles from 612 Vermont to safely brighten my front porch all season long.
These candles are amazing because they have a hot spot which makes them brighter and more visible from afar. They even come with a remote, so no timer is needed.
Outdoor Planter Decor
For a festive flourish, I placed a Christmas centerpiece in my outdoor planter.
I love this planter but find it challenging to dress up at Christmas but this year I had a genius idea at Homegoods. Can you believe this is a centerpiece that holds candles?
I know I cannot believe it either! I simply placed in the planter for instant Christmas magic.
It's a perfect fit! I removed the red berries it came with and added battery-powered pillar candles, bells, and a lovely pink ribbon to tie it all together and create a cozy atmosphere.
Pastel Poinsettias
No Christmas porch decor ideas are complete without including natural elements. To bring in a bit of nature, I scattered white and pink poinsettias around the bench.
I found my poinsettias at Trader Joes but you can find them anywhere.
Poinsettias are the perfect outdoor Christmas decorations to add a touch of elegance and charm to any holiday decor. If you don't like the pots they come in, try wrapping the pots in burlap or placing the plants in galvanized buckets.
Vintage Skis and Skates
At Summerhill no room is complete without some sort of vintage items.
Vintage skis and skates are wonderful additions that bring an old-fashioned flair to the porch.
They remind me of winter days gone by and add a unique character to the décor.
Dog Statue
Even my little dog statue gets in on the holiday cheer, adorned with a wide bow I made from fabric, actually an old bed sheet that I have been using to decorate with in all the room, and an ornament in his basket.
Isn't he adorable!
If you'd like to try making ribbon from fabric, you can find a step-by-step guide in my post: How to Make Ribbon from Fabric.
Front Door Wreath
Now, let's turn our attention to the door. I decided to hang a Christmas village wreath that I crafted years ago. You can learn how to make one for your home in my post: How to Make a Christmas Village Wreath.
A fresh pastel pink bow gives it new life. Again, this bow is crafted from the vintage sheets and matches the puppies bow.
Changing your ribbon according to your color schemes is a great and inexpensive way to reuse old decor.
Did you know you can hang a wreath on your door without nails? Learn my trick in my blog post How to Hang a Wreath on a Glass Door without a Nail and How to Hang a Wreath with Ribbon. The later technique of what I did on this door.
