A simple coat of spray paint primer and another of metallic gold spray paint and you end up with a breathtaking piece! Metallic spray paint is one of my favorite ways to refresh items in my home.

At Christmas, we showed you how we took old closet doors and gave them new lives as life-sized nutcrackers.

Painters tape and kraft paper were our friends as these nutcrackers took shape. I love the way the metallic paint shines.
