An easy way to decorate for Valentine's day is to add Valentines banners to your fireplace, hutch, or pretty much anywhere. We have made a few homemade heart banners for our house but we couldn't help but take a peek at what our friends have and share with you.

VALENTINE BANNER IDEAS
So many different materials are used to make Valentine's banners we gathered together. Not to mention the different colors that are used to add a touch of love to this Holiday.
Music Sheet Heart Banner

Graceful Interiors banner is a hand-cut and hand-sewn heart garland. It is made from old music pages. This would be beautifully displayed on a piano for Valentine's Day decorations.

Grain Sack Ticking Banner
When you think of a fabric that fits best in a farmhouse, you immediately think of grain-sack ticking striped fabric. So what's better than red stripes cut in heart shapes and sewn on old book pages? Once these beauties are attached to some twine, they can be hung so everyone can see.

Perfectly Distressed garland is made with paper heart doilies, precut heart burlaps, and twine. Sometimes simple is the best way to go.

Friday Street Project's felt heart garland has such subtle hints of red mixed into ivory and gray, that it would be the perfect garland for so many occasions.
Don't you love it when you buy a piece of decor that can be repurposed in so many different ways? Picture this draped on your tiered tray like the one on the Valentine Tiered Tray post we featured, or hung on your fireplace for an anniversary or even snuggled into your tree at Christmas.
Paper Grain Sack Heart Banner Idea

Don't have grain sack fabric, but love the look for a Valentine's banner? Nancy at Slightly Coastal made this with such an inspiration.
She grabbed some white card stock, a red Sharpie and just a few crafting supplies and made a lazy girls grain sack Valentine's decoration. We love it!
You can also make this DIY with fabric paints and fabric. What a fun farmhouse Valentine decoration idea!

Homemade Chalkboard Valentine Banner
Hanging Valentine's banners on a chalkboard with a sweet message is so perfect! But why stop there? Cherie at Sweet Rose and Wren made an adorable heart project with her daughter and displayed it on a tray.
Don't forget your felt garland! Draping them over a crate is perfect and the colors of this strand will carry you into Easter!
Mirror Valentine's Banner Idea
Cami over at Tidbits has come up with the sweetest new tradition. A countdown to Valentine's Day with sweet things to do that show love to others. Each tucked inside an adorable little bag. Doesn't this countdown make a great banner to display!

DIY Wooden Valentine Banner Idea

Talk about easy! This Valentine's day banner is made from a store bought wood banner, laser cut hearts and silhouette letters.
You can paint this garland or leave it all natural like we did at our house. Our heart garland is a subtle way of celebrating the love holiday without it screaming red or pink.
This homemade Valentine banner also blends in nicely with your other home decor colors. It is the perfect neutral Valentine decoration with each banner piece being natural wood.

Air Dry Clay Heart Garland

One of my favorite things to do with holiday decorations is layer garlands on our hutch. For one February decoration, I took air dry clay and a heart-shaped cookie cutter and made this adorable brushed gold and white hearts garland.

Doily Heart Garland Valentine Banner DIY

And last to finish off all these wonderful DIY Valentine banner ideas here is our personal favorite project.
This easy doily heart garland is so easy to make and is very inexpensive. You can purchase everything at the dollar store. It takes less than an hour to make and you can change out the doilies for other colors like red or pink.
See how simple it is to make this doily heart garland. We love ours so much until we keep it hanging on our hutch other months of the year too.
